A GLEE GROUP PSL


Thank you for your interest in our Glee!group PSL. We are a pseudo-canon game, following all past and upcoming episodes yet still have fun with creating our own story lines. After all, a lot happens in Lima after the last bell rings at McKinley and between episodes. This is our chance to have fun with that.

To Play
Journal & AIM: All you need is a character journal (aim optional). with two posts! For that username, please no 'bubblybritts.' First/last name combinations only. Please avoid using underscores. If it can not be avoided, limit it to one, separating the first and last name only.

Every journal must have two posts. An in-character friends only post as well as an ooc post so people can see your time zone, preferred method of play, contact you for threads and brain storm story line ideas. Make sure you have at least one icon as well. Journals must be free from old friends and entries as well. We don't want any confusion after all.

AIM: Many of our members enjoy using in character instant messaging in nightly, group chats as well as for individual play. Because of this, a screen name is encouraged. But don't fret! If AIM just isn't your thing, we have lots of community activities that are posted in the communities as well as lots of opportunity to write threaded scenes. AIM should also be character related. No numbers, dates, X's or O's should be used in screen names. Instead, be creative. Get in the character's head. The screen name should reflect the character and have their name in it. example: sultry santana. We will not be adding OOC sn's.

Examples: Please supply us with a sample of your writing. This can be an example journal or a link your fan-fiction, previous characters you have played, etc.


Our Rules

We are a pseudo-canon game: What this means, we are following the characterizations and the past set plots from Fox's Glee. Sticking to the show's canon is a challenge and one a writer of this community is dedicated to exploring. Following the canon of the show will be a challenge yet very rewarding in the end. Being pseudo-canon however gives you the freedom to delve a little deeper and explore your character past the shows limitations.

Group Activities: There are a handful of group activities going on at all times. Some of those include a weekly Free for All post (think ONTD!), regular AIM group chats, individual & group scenes and lots of journal posts to comment. To make these activities work (and to ensure you're having fun), it is a great idea to participate regularly.

OOC Activities: Every week there is an OOC post made for writers to discuss Glee, the canon of the show and how they see it affecting their characters. This should also prove to be a useful tool in making friends and writing partner connections as well as planning out some future plot bunnies and scene prompts.

Activity is essential. If a member has no signs of activity (replying to comments, threads, activity checks, excessive hiatuses, etc.) they will be removed with out warning. Important: If a current member is removed due to inactivity, a current update and journal friends list clean up is required before re-applying.

Removals: Not being conducive to a positive writing atmosphere, inciting unneeded drama, blurring ooc/ic lines, demonstrate you are unable to maintain a mature writing style, cannot follow the rules, recruiting for other communities, unable to display a knowledge in correct grammar and spelling or having a grossly inaccurate portrayal of your character (we're not making straight characters gay, having unneeded babies, etc). Pseudo-canon refers to the background created for each character on the television series. An accurate portrayal is just a few clicks away. Watch the show on television, watch online, take advantage of fan based web sites, Tumblr, livejournal, wikipedia, etc.

Update limit: A member should be updating in some fashion (personal journal entries, sub comm posts, threads) at least every three to four weeks. This does not mean you can post a place holder and not be active. Because we are a small group of writers it is important to have continuous interactions through comments, scenes and aim.

Multiple Roles: Because we are a small PSL, we discourage any member from playing more than one role. One player, one character. If it is discovered a writer is doing double duty, the less active role will be removed from play. We want a diverse writing experience, one that focuses on the writer really capturing their character's voice. Doubling up tends to take away from that.

Layouts & Icons: Icons should be 100x100 bases. Please no text icons and limit gif style icons. Animated icons make it difficult for some people to scroll their friend page (it slows down the loading speed for mobile rp'ers). If you need help with layouts or icons, many of our members are willing to assist in making your character's journal pretty. Don't hesitate to ask for help. The mod team can help with your icon needs. Just leave a note in the drop box and someone will help you with standard 100X100 screen cap bases.
